Jeremiah is a sad and lonely boy of fifteen. He is a hard worker, loves to spend time with his family, and has a passion for writing sonnets. However, there has always been something missing from Jeremiah's life: Fruit.
     You see, Jeremiah and his family live in a small town on the top of a mountain and no one wants to make the long trip up the mountain to bring the people fresh fruit.
     Jeremiah's village is self-sustaining, they make everything they need to survive. But for some reason they can never get fruit to grow.
     Today, Jeremiah has decided that it's time. He's on a quest and he will not stop until he gets his fill of juicy ripe peaches and oranges and bananas and every other kind of fruit imaginable.
     He wakes up at 4a.m., kisses his mother's sleeping face, and sets off down the mountain.
     After a day of tripping on rocks, getting scratched by thorn-laden plants. amd being frightened by quite a few animals, Jeremiah reaches the town of Alnock.
     The first thing he spies...is a fruit stand. He samples a Banana and breakes out in a rash - Jeremiah is allergic to fruit.
